The October revolution took place in November is a song excerpted from Vive la Phrance, a play created in 2017 on the collapse of our political systems, which was broadcast in 2017 on BBC Radio 3.
This song was written for the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. The music, composed by Matteo Fargion, references the notes of the famous and controversial song “You can call me Al” by Paul Simon. Having recorded his album in South Africa, Simon was criticised at the time for its non-alignment with the cultural boycott of Apartheid. The choreography consists of a collection of four steps from the ballet Les Noces by Nijinska. With lyrics by Andrea Spreafico, the song is a hymn to political confusion.

Born in Ravenna (Italy), Andrea Spreafico, after studying philosophy, and fine arts in Bologna (Italy) and Reims (France) and Nuremberg (Germany), founded his own company with dancer Caroline Eckly. Their aim is to develop performances that bring together various forms of artistic expression, performances that impishly question the archetypes around the relationship between an audience and a work of art. He is also a regular associate of Matteo Fargion and M. Johanson, founding member of the Nature Theatre of Oklahoma. He lives in Bergen (Norway) and has toured his work iinternationally

Born in Milan (Italy) Matteo Fargion is a composer, performer and teacher. His eclectic work, stemming broadly from the English Experimental and New Simplicity movements, embraces the handmade and the small scale. He is known as much for his long-standing collaboration with choreographer Jonathan Burrows as for the music he continues to write for concerts, theatre and dance performances. Uniquely he began not only to accompany the dance with his music but to become part of it, preempting and influencing a new generation of composers drawn to performance work. Fargion continues to tour and teach widely with Burrows, developing new forms of performance collaboration with Mette Edvardsen, as well as collaborating with Claire Croizé, Karl Jay-Lewin and Andrea Spreafico.
