A Very Eye
Angela Rabaglio, Micaël Florentz
Tumbleweed
In constant, mutable movement, six performers cross paths, brush each other, intertwine, break apart, then scatter — only to reconnect and embrace again with greater ease. Working around patterns of crowd movements, Tumbleweed company appropriates the figure of the braid, the weave, to celebrate the strength and beauty of human interactions.
Tumbleweed is the fruit of a meeting between Swiss choreographer and dancer Angela Rabaglio and French choreographer and musician Micaël Florentz. The company was founded in 2017, and is based in Brussels and Zurich. The duo The Gyre was born of this collaboration in 2018. In 2022, their first group piece A Very Eye won the Maeterlinck prize of the Fédération Wallonie-Brussels. With Dehors est blanc, a trio in suspense created in 2023, Tumbleweed continues to venture into new artistic territories.
