L'heure du thé
Rebecca Journo
La Pieuvre
On stage loom portraits, portraits of disturbing strangeness, between beauty and horror. The fractured movements and frozen smiles of these transient identities are captured to preserve them alive forever. Rebecca Journo, inspired by the photography of Hannah Maynard, invites us to a peculiar tea party.
After studying contemporary dance at London's Trinity Laban Conservatory, Rebecca Journo worked for various companies including KonzertTheater Bern, Brokentalkers, Tabea Martin and Michèle Murray. In 2018, she created her company in collaboration with Véronique Lemonnier, with an approach at the edge of dance, performance, music and photography. In 2022, she created the quartet Portrait and is currently working on Les amours de la pieuvre, an immersive, choreographic and sonic installation-performance. She won the FoRTE - Fonds régional pour les talents émergents (Regional Fund for Emerging Talent) for her creation Dyptique en 2020.
